Charles Newcomb Joins Stewart's Home Retention Services as COO
February 4, 2008
Charles Newcomb has joined Home Retention Services Inc. as chief operating officer, reporting to Don O'Neill, president and chief executive officer of Stewart Lender Services.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Lender Services, Home Retention Services was created in 2007 to respond to demands of portfolio lenders and mortgage investors. It provides an economical and efficient way to allow qualified mortgage borrowers to retain their homes in the face of rapidly increasing payments associated with adjustable rate mortgages.
"Stewart Home Retention Services provides a method for loan servicers and investors to contact borrowers with the use of delegated authority to negotiate and modify loan terms, allowing borrowers to stay in their home and restructure the terms of the original loan," said O'Neill. "While not all borrowers will qualify for a modified loan, those who do will be provided an opportunity to retain their homes."
In his new role, Newcomb will oversee the ongoing operations of the company, focusing on portfolio analysis and home retention solutions.
Prior to joining Stewart, Newcomb held positions as the senior vice president of investor delivery for Aegis Wholesale Corp. and as its senior vice president of national operations. Newcomb's extensive experience also includes 19 years as regional vice president of consumer lending for Great Western Bank in Southern California.
Newcomb holds a bachelor of science degree in biology and economics from Jacksonville State University and a Six Sigma(R) certification from Villanova University.
