- Title Acceptance Pilot
  In March 2024, the Biden administration announced a Title Acceptance Pilot, which waives the requirement for lender’s title insurance on certain refinances. ALTA called the announcement a political gesture offering a false promise of savings for homeowners while exposing consumers, lenders and taxpayers to greater financial risk.

  The proposed rule by U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will require title and settlement companies nationwide to report information about all-cash residential transactions nationwide involving legal entities and trusts.

ALTA offers several membership types tailored to organizations and professionals across the land title and settlement services industry. Each option provides targeted benefits, access to industry resources, and opportunities to engage with the ALTA community.

Join or Renew ALTA Membership

Active Membership

Calculate Your Dues Here

Active membership is restricted to business entities that are legally qualified to engage in the business of land title evidencing as an abstracter, title insurance agent or title insurance underwriter. Active members may vote in Association elections and hold committee and elected positions.

Associate Membership

Associate Member dues are $800.

Associate membership is reserved for those people or firms engaged in providing services to the land title industry. This includes an ALTA Marketplace profile.

Real Estate Attorney Membership

Real Estate Attorney dues are $430 (gross revenue under $1 million) or $640 (gross revenue over $1 million)

The attorney membership is designed to meet the needs of individual real estate attorneys who do not primarily engage in the business of land title evidencing.

Emeritus Membership

For retired industry professionals.

Emeritus Membership Dues are $115

This class of membership is open to retired members of the title industry, provided that they are not eligible for any other type of membership.
