ALTA Advocacy Summit to Feature SECURE Notarization Act Legislators

If you have even the smallest bit of interest in what’s happening in Washington, D.C., ALTA Advocacy Summit is the event you need to attend this spring. Hosted steps away from the best Washington has to offer at the Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf, you’ll hear from big name speakers, like Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Acting Director Sandra Thompson, Freddie Mac Senior Economist Rama Yanamandra PhD and Inside Elections Editor and Publisher Nathan Gonzales. You also will have the opportunity to meet legislators important to the title insurance industry.

On Tuesday, May 17, we’ll kick off our morning session with Reps. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) and Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), who introduced the bipartisan SECURE Notarization Act with 31 of their colleagues. The legislators will discuss with ALTA Senior VP of Public Affairs Chris Morton and ALTA Senior Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs Emily Tryon how they have worked together to get the SECURE Notarization Act introduced and included in the National Defense Authorization Act last year as well as how they are pushing forward this year.

Hurry: Reserve your hotel room before our room block closes April 20! During ALTA Advocacy Summit, you’ll get the inside scoop on D.C. politics, hear from federal leaders and meet with several members of Congress and their staffs. This in-person and virtual event provides the best opportunity you’ll have to engage with Congressional leaders and create a lasting impression on members of Congress.

As with ALTA’s other events, we will be closely tracking any COVID-19 restrictions and keep you informed if there are any changes. As of March 1, Washington, D.C., has lifted its mask mandate in most indoor settings. While the keynote speakers, education and networking events will be in person at ALTA Advocacy Summit, meetings with legislators and their staffs will be conducted virtually from the hotel.

No need to feel intimidated: ALTA staff will walk you through everything you need to know before your meetings with legislators. We’ll tell you what to expect and provide talking points you can use to ensure a successful visit.
