First National Title Bolsters Texas Underwriting Counsel

May 15, 2025

First National Title Insurance Co. (FNTI) recently added Leyna Williams to its Texas underwriting counsel team.

“I knew immediately that the FNTI underwriting team possessed the expertise and congeniality I seek out in colleagues and mentors, and a forward-thinking, service-oriented perspective that is rare in this industry,” Williams said. “I’m beyond thrilled with and so appreciative of the opportunity to move into underwriting and join the incredible team at FNTI.”

After law school, she accepted an associate attorney position at a global law firm, with a practice focused on corporate defense, labor and employment, and real estate. A family-focused move to Houston led to a career shift, allowing her to represent small businesses and individuals in a variety of real estate, employment and family law matters. Like many in the industry, her introduction to the title world was a bit random and a fortuitous stroke of luck. Williams has served as an escrow officer, CE instructor and in-house counsel for a title agency for several years.

“We’re excited to welcome Leyna to the family.” said FNTI General Counsel David Hays, “Leyna will join our Texas underwriting team as vice president and underwriting counsel further strengthening what I believe to be the strongest and most favored underwriting team in the state. Leyna’s strong background in real estate law and front-line agency experience brings valuable insight and understanding to our title agents. Her energy, attitude and professionalism fit into our brand of underwriting, and I look forward to working with her as she embraces this new challenge. I know Leyna will be another valuable piece of our company’s continued growth and success.”
