American Land Title Association Names Diane Evans as President

Washington, DC, November 5, 2014 — The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, announced that veteran land title agent Diane Evans NTP has been named president for the 2014-2015 year.

“I am honored to represent the nearly 5,400 member companies of the American Land Title Association this year,” said Diane Evans, ALTA president and senior vice president at Denver-based Land Title Guarantee Company. “I believe that with passion and pride, we have much to accomplish in the next year and we can grow and flourish as an industry. We must continue to exhibit that our members are the ones that safeguard a consumer’s largest financial investment—their home. In addition to more consumer education, ALTA plans to provide more tools and information for our members as they continue implementation of ALTA’s Best Practices and prepare for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) new integrated mortgage disclosures, which go into effect August 2015.”

The 11-member ALTA Board of Governors is responsible for creating association policy, managing the financial health of the association and ensuring the overall welfare of the association.

“Our industry is currently going through many changes and Diane’s experience, passion and commitment will help ensure success as we help our members adapt to a new marketplace,” said Michelle Korsmo, chief executive officer of ALTA. “Diane’s more than 30 years as an industry leader and advocate are invaluable and we are privileged to have her at the helm of our association this year. Her knowledge and dedication will be essential as ALTA and our members address important issues impacting the title industry, their businesses and consumers.”

Evans received her National Title Professional (NTP) designation in June. The designation recognizes land title professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property.

Evans, who joined Land Title Guarantee in 1981, has been an active participant in the industry for many years at the national, state and local level. Evans serves on many ALTA committees and task forces, and has worked closely with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners over the years. She served as president of the Land Title Association of Colorado in 2001, serving on its board of directors from 1992-2002. Evans played an integral role in the development of Colorado’s electronic recording capabilities, participating on the state’s e-recording panel. She’s also a past vice chair and current member of the Colorado Division of Insurance Title Advisory Panel. Currently, Evans serves on the board for the Castle Rock Economic Development Council. Evans and her husband, Roger, live in Kiowa, Colo.
