Louisiana-based Title Company Accepts Cryptocurrency

Louisiana-based Crescent Title announced it can facilitate deals where the consumer is funding the transaction using cryptocurrency.

The company can facilitate transactions using Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Ripple and Bitcoin Cash.

Matt Emmons, an attorney with Crescent Title, said the company has implemented procedures to ensure that closings funded by cryptocurrency goes smoothly.

“As cryptocurrency adoption becomes more widespread, we see real estate transactions as a logical next step for cryptocurrency use,” he said. “Clients are requesting it, and it is important for us to answer that call and stay ahead of the curve. This is a new offering. We have one file in the works, and given the feedback we have received, we anticipate having more on the books very soon.”

Bob Bergeron founded the Crescent Title in 2003. With six offices, the company serves the parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. John, Tangipahoa, Washington, St. Bernard and Plaquemines.
