eRecording Partners Network Expands in Kentucky

August 11, 2021

The Todd County Clerk’s Office has partnered with eRecording Partners Network (ePN) to bring e-recording to the Kentucky county effective Aug. 9, 2021. Kentucky passed legislation Jan. 1, 2020 allowing counties to begin e-recording. Todd County became the 27 Kentucky county to join the ePN network.

With many Kentucky counties already e-recording since legislation passed, Clerk Cindy O’Bryan wanted to provide a convenient, secure and quicker way for attorneys, banks and title companies to submit documents for recording into the public record. As county offices across the country began to shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Todd County was positively motivated to move forward with electronic recording. Clerk O’Bryan promptly began working with her land record management system (LRMS) partner, Data Records Management Services (DRMS), to start the implementation process.

“We are excited and nervous at the same time. As the first DRMS county to go-live with e-recording, we are anxious to move forward and smooth the path for other DRMS counties looking to get started with electronic recording,” said Cindy O’Bryan, Todd County clerk.

Jerry Lewallen, president of ePN, added, “Our team is grateful to have the opportunity to work with Todd County and DRMS to implement e-recording in Clerk O’Bryan’s office. As Todd County works through the transition, we want them to know we are with them through every step of their eRecording journey.”
