New York Reminds Title Companies of New Regs, Rate Requirements

February 5, 2019

The regulations require title insurance companies to submit new rate applications to establish rates to be charged in the future that exclude all expenses deemed to be prohibited under the regulation. In its letter, the NYDFS said that all title insurance policies issued after Feb. 15, 2019, at rates that don’t reflect compliance with the regulation will be in violation of New York law.
