ALTA Director of State Government Affairs Named to PRIA Board

Elizabeth Blosser, ALTA’s director of state government affairs, joined five other professionals who were elected to serve two-year terms on the Property Records Industry Association’s (PRIA) Board of Directors.

Joining Blosser as an elected director in the business category was Jana Miyasaki, senior project manager at CSC. This is the first term on the PRIA Board of Directors for both Blosser and Miyasaki.

Re-elected in the recorder category were Diane Swoboda Peterson, real estate/recorder deputy in Woodbury Co., Iowa; and Annette Hill, city register/assistant commissioner of the N.Y. Department of Finance. 

Jerry Lewallen, president of eRecording Partners Network; and Joyce Mascena, clerk/registrar of vital statistics/election official of Glastonbury, Conn.; were elected in the at-large director category. This is Mascena's first term on the board. 

Directors continuing for the second year of a two-year board term are Larry Burtness, recorder, Washoe Co., Nev.; Chris Walker, clerk, Jackson Co., Ore.; and Cathy Recker, recorder, Putnam Co., Ohio; representing recorders.

Zachary Zaharek, senior corporate counsel for Data Trace; Charlie Epperson, chief technology officer of SigniaDocs; and Penny Reed, senior vice president and strategy and financial reform for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; continue into their second year representing the business sector.

Mark Ladd, vice president of regulatory and industry affairs for Simplifile, will continue on the board for a final year as an at-large director.

The new board convened on Thursday, August 30, to elect officers for one-year terms. Burtness was elected president, Lewallen will serve as vice president, Hill will take the position of secretary and Zaharek was re-elected treasurer.
