CATIC Appoints New Member to Board of Directors

CATIC recently appointed Linda B. Meyers, a managing member of the law firm Webber & Meyers, to its Board of Directors.

An attorney since 1984, Meyers has focused on real estate and the representation of lenders, buyers and sellers. She has expertise in handling short sales, foreclosed properties, bankruptcies and probate matters as they relate to all aspects of the real estate transaction.

“Over the years, Meyers has developed great expertise in all facets of real property matters. We are pleased to have such an accomplished and knowledgeable addition to the board,” said James M. Czapiga, CATIC president and CEO. “We look forward to working with her in promoting the interests of the company and its many agents.”

Meyers is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the New England Land Title Association (NELTA), and has been an expert witness in numerous court matters regarding title disputes and standards of professional responsibility for real estate practitioners. A frequent guest lecturer on real estate matters and financial literacy, she has also been a member of the Avon Zoning Board of Appeals, an advisory board member for a banking institution, and a grader for the State of Connecticut Bar Examining Committee. Meyers has also been active in various community organizations, having served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Home Builders Association of Hartford County Charitable Foundation, and as a pro bono advocate for homeowners in financial distress.
