CATIC Names Massachusetts State Counsel

May 23, 2017

CATIC announced that Melanie E. Kido has joined the company’s Massachusetts team as vice president and state counsel. Kido will be responsible for the management of the Massachusetts underwriting department and help service and support CATIC’s Massachusetts agents.

Kido joins CATIC with 25 years of legal and title insurance industry experience. She has worked in the title insurance industry for the past 19 years underwriting both residential and commercial transactions for various national underwriters. Prior to entering the title insurance industry, Kido was in private practice.

“Having known and worked with Melanie for many years, I am very excited to have her join the CATIC team in Massachusetts,” said James M. Czapiga, president and CEO of CATIC. “Her broad experience in residential and commercial underwriting will be an asset to our attorney agents in Massachusetts and beyond. Her talents will help us to continue to provide solid underwriting guidance that will assist us in our mission of providing the best-in-class service as a Bar Related® title insurance company.”

Kido is a member of both the Massachusetts and California bars, CREW Boston, NNCREW (National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women), the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA), REBA’s Title Insurance and National Affairs Committee, the New England Land Title Association, the ALTA Title Counsel Committee, and the American Bar Association. She has published articles and has been a panelist for REBA, MCLE, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
