CFPB to Study Costs of Complying With Finance Regulations

March 26, 2013

In a blog entry on its website, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced it wants to know how much it costs banks, credit unions and other financial services providers to comply with financial regulations.

The CFPB said it wants to know the extent and nature of the compliance costs the Bureau inherited from other agencies.

To increase public understanding of compliance costs, the CFPB plans to talk to banks across the country about the costs they incur to comply with consumer regulations for deposit products and services.
