IMS Adds Kathy W. Sutton As Risk and Compliance Officer

ORLANDO, Fla.-- Integrated Mortgage Solutions (IMS), a collateral protection resource for the mortgage servicing industry, announced at the 11th Annual Mortgage Technology Conference presented by SourceMedia the addition of Kathy W. Sutton as risk and compliance officer.

In this position, Sutton will oversee IMS’ adherence to SAS 70 audit requirements and monitor legislative and regulatory changes within the mortgage industry and state level municipalities. She will also design and implement incentive programs for IMS staff and contractor network.

“Kathy’s proven expertise in legal matters specific to the financial industry further enables IMS to offer our clients risk management and compliance guidance,” said Cheryl Lang, president of IMS. “Our customers demand solutions that enable them to keep pace with changing industry legislation and compliance regulations, and Kathy’s addition to our company accelerates this process.”

Prior to joining IMS, Sutton served as senior quality assurance representative for Richmond, Va.-based LandAmerica Financial Group Inc., where she managed more than 325 title insurance agents in a risk-focused program. She also performed quality assurance reviews of agents to ensure their compliance with state and federal statutes as well as verifying acceptable underwriting procedures.

At Metairie La.–based Mollere, Flanagan & Landry LLC, Sutton was tasked with closing approximately 15 to 20 real estate transactions per month, including title insurance examinations and the executing of documents. She was also responsible for case management that involved real property issues, collections, banking, probate, successions and civil litigations.

Sutton received her bachelor of arts in Political Science and Anthropology/Sociology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. She also went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University School of Law in Baton Rouge, La.
