Old Republic Title Acquires Northern Ohio Title Agency

January 2, 2007

Old Republic National Title Holding Company (ORNTHC) has acquired Elyria Land Title Agency, Ltd., Elyria, Ohio. The Agency provides title insurance and closing services in eight Northern Ohio counties. The current principals of the agency: Robert Piazza, Judith Gauntner and Sharon Yearley formed the agency in 2002 after working nearly two decades for another major underwriter.

The Agency has grown rapidly over the last four years. As it flourished, many seasoned veterans of the title industry became a part of its success. "I am very pleased to announce this acquisition, as I have known this group of title professionals for many years. I am extremely proud to have them join the Old Republic Title family", said Jim Stipanovich, Vice President and East Central Division Manager. “The fine team of talented title professionals they have assembled compliments and gives even more depth to the capabilities of our existing local offices. Their ethics, competence, experience, dedication and profound interest in doing the right thing to protect owners of real property are examples of what is right about the title insurance industry, “said Jim Stipanovich.

In 2007, Elyria Land title Agency, Ltd., will change its name to Old Republic Title Company of Northern Ohio, LLC. Judy Gauntner, who is manager of the Agency said, "We are excited to become part of the Old Republic Title brand. Their unparalleled financial strength and high ratings provide an excellent platform for our expansion in Northern Ohio." Steve Wilson, Executive Vice President of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, added, "This acquisition and its name change will continue to strengthen the identity of Old Republic Title in the Midwest as an established and recognized title insurance leader."
