Monroe Title picks Maureen Lamb

March 31, 2005

The board of Monroe Title Insurance Corp. named Maureen Lamb acting president of the company on Wednesday.

She replaces Thomas P. Moonan, who died Sunday while visiting family in Atlanta.

Lamb, 56, a lawyer in a family practice, had served as vice chairman of the company.

The Pittsford resident has a long history with Monroe Title. She joined the company in 1966 and rose to be vice president of operations and marketing when she left in 1991 to work for her family's law firm, Lamb Law Offices. She was elected vice chairman of Monroe Title in 2003.

Lamb received her bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University and her law degree from Syracuse University.

Lamb said she had big shoes to fill.

"Tom was a wonderful man who brought tremendous leadership and enthusiasm to his job. He left an indelible mark on our company and the title industry," she said.

Monroe Title of Rochester was founded in 1921. It grew to more than 200 employees under Moonan's leadership.
