FinCEN Director to Speak at ALTA Advocacy Summit

April 1, 2024

Learn About FinCEN’s Proposed Residential Real Estate Rulemaking

Saying “there’s a lot happening in the title insurance industry right now” is an understatement, and you need to be informed. To provide the latest on the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s (FinCEN’s) proposed Residential Real Estate Rulemaking, ALTA CEO Diane Tomb will sit down for a fireside chat with FinCEN Director Andrea Gacki on Tuesday, May 7, during ALTA Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining FinCEN, Gacki served as the Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control for five years, where she oversaw the implementation and enforcement of U.S. economic sanctions. Gacki also served as a trial attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where she litigated a range of matters involving the Treasury Department’s national security authorities.

On Wednesday, May 8, unite with other title professionals to meet with Members of Congress and their staff! Let’s face it: Meeting directly with your Congressional legislators can be intimidating. But don’t let fear turn your “yes” into a “no”! At ALTA Advocacy Summit, we set you up for success. The ALTA staff will walk you step-by-step through everything you need to know before you get to Capitol Hill.

As title professionals, we have successfully managed change throughout our history. No matter what challenges we face, we remain steadfast in our work to protect property rights. As we continue to proudly advocate for our industry’s critical role, we know one thing is true: Our voices are stronger together. It’s the power of connection—to homebuyers, policymakers, our partners and communities—that makes us successful. Together, we are tenacious. Together, we are powerful. Together, we are the champions of the title industry.

Thank you to our exhibitors, including PropLogix, for their support as well as First American for sponsoring the event app. Join us to walk the halls of Congress at ALTA Advocacy Summit!
