Fannie Mae Seeks Candidates Experienced in Closings, CFPB’s Integrated Mortgage Disclosures

Fannie Mae announced it is looking to hire a product development and financial services manager with experience with the settlement process and creation of the HUD-1 and knowledge of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s final rule for integrated mortgage disclosures.

This position will manage a team engaged in developing new products, improving existing products, and leading teams through the development life cycle for an assigned marketing initiative or customer group. Additionally, this person will hire, manage, train, develop and evaluate staff. They will also develop, implement, document and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Key Job Functions

  • Manage daily team activities related to developing and defining business requirements for mortgage products. Lead team in conducting research and analyses, assessing market needs and opportunities, and providing recommendations.
  • Guide team in product development to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery. Build consensus. Monitor progress and results. Provide findings on significant matters.
  • Oversee adherence to compliance and controls related to product development.
  • Manage lender and vendor implementations. Coordinate activities to deliver products to market.
  • Solicit customer feedback. Respond to product-related internal and external queries.
  • Coordinate and develop marketing initiatives, promotions, and communications related to specific products, product lines, or product areas.
  • Develop and sustain key relationships. Collaborate with stakeholders to vet product ideas and influence decision-making on product enhancements from concept to implementation.
  • Coordinate and administer assignments, monitor team progress, and maintain schedules.
  • Develop team members and provide ongoing professional guidance and direction.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required   

Minimum Experience

  • 6+  years of related experience

 Additional Specialized Knowledge and Skills 

  • Deep familiarity with the new Closing Disclosure and Loan Estimate forms promulgated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
  • Familiarity with the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) standards and specifications a plus
  • Ability to influence, effectively collaborate and negotiate with key business and technology stakeholders through proactive engagement to deliver results and the best business outcome for Fannie Mae and our customers
  • Demonstrated ability to create an atmosphere of shared purpose and fosters an environment of creativity in solving business problems; exhibits good business judgment in assessing which creative ideas/suggestions will work.
  • A team player with a collaborative working style and a willingness to contribute to all aspects of team's work product.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate and present information to industry participants (lenders, vendors, and settlement services companies) at conferences and webinars
  • Ability to create training materials used in for industry presentations
