Attend ALTA's 2008 Federal Conference to Talk with HUD Officials About the Proposal
All indications are that HUD will be publishing their proposed RESPA regulation within the next week or so. It is expected the rule will offer a new Good Faith Estimate (GFE), changes to the HUD-1, cost tolerances, and a new "Closing Script" that will need to be drafted and read by every closer to the consumer. These issues and others will definitely impact how you do business. ALTA has planned a RESPA session with HUD staff and a speech from Brian Montgomery, Assistant Secretary for Housing to update attendees during the Federal Conference, March 10-12 in Washington, DC. Register today at for program information on the 2008 Federal Conference. As an added benefit, specific Federal Conference sessions have been approved for either CLE or CE credit in some states.
