First Advantage Corp. has acquired the assets of EvidentData Inc.

The transaction was completed to expand the West Coast presence of First Advantage's litigation support services and enhance the company's current electronic discovery capabilities, both offered by First Advantage's Litigation Consulting Services unit.

EvidentData, headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., specializes in computer forensics and electronic discovery consulting. It also has offices in San Diego and Boston and has provided courtroom-ready evidence and expert testimony in hundreds of cases, a release said.

"In complex, multiparty litigation, the computer forensics experts are often first on the scene and are a trusted partner of law firms," said Peter Garza, president of EvidentData, in a release.

"As businesses increasingly rely on electronics to transmit large volumes of information, First Advantage will continue to invest in these critical services so that we are positioned as a key resource to cull evidence in support of the litigation and investigative needs of our clients worldwide," said John Long, chief executive officer of First Advantage, in a release.

St. Petersburg-based First Advantage (NASDAQ: FADV - News) provides risk mitigation and business services.

First Advantage is a majority-owned subsidiary of The First American Corp. (NYSE: FAF - News), a Fortune 500 company that began in 1889.
