Nebraska Department of Insurance Approves Domestication of First American Title

July 15, 2014

The Nebraska Department of Insurance approved the domestication of First American Title Insurance Co. in the Cornhusker State.

“First American Title Insurance Company appreciates the support from the Nebraska Department of Insurance during the redomestication process and looks forward to working closely with the department in the future,” said Chris Leavell, First American’s chief operating officer.

Christine Neighbors, deputy director and general counsel for the Nebraska Department of insurance, told the Lincoln Journal Star that since 1998 the Nebraska director of insurance has allowed redomestication into the state if the company brings jobs and isn’t simply expecting a lower tax rate.

First American Title, which was previously domiciled in California, employs about 22 people in Nebraska.
