Wisconsin-Based Title Company Makes Acquisition

September 13, 2011

Wisconsin-based Knight Barry Title Group has acquired Lakeside Title of Kenosha, Wis., which marks Knight Barry's 19th office. The company is now bigger and stronger in the Kenosha market, with an immense opportunity for lenders and real estate professionals to use our services, the company said in a release.

Kris Stratton, the manager of Lakeside Title, will team up with Knight Barry manager Rolly Peckus to provide an increased level of service to both company's customer bases. Lakeside's more than 20 years of title and closing experience will blend very well into Knight Barry's history of providing fast and accurate title and closing services.

Lakeside was owned in part by Steve Mills and was an in-house title company initially established to serve Bear Realty and Bear Homes. Knight Barry is an independent title agency that will continue to provide service to the Bear family of companies and all other real estate agents, lenders, lawyers and property owners in Kenosha and surrounding areas.

"I chose Knight Barry because I believe their systems, service, and technology are unique in the industry. I thought it was a good fit for Lakeside Title's employees, our real estate agents, and communities that we have provided title services to over the past two decades," Mills said.

Lakeside's existing customers will have access to Knight Barry's Q3 online software, which offers a slew of new title products, increased turn time and more efficiently priced products, Knight Barry said.

Knight Barry also recently opened a new office in Fond du Lac, Wis. The office is staffed with five employees.
