Regional Underwriter adds VP to Bolster Support Services

January 28, 2010

Alliant National Title Insurance Company, a title insurance underwriter that partners with independent agents to improve their competitive position in the marketplace, announced that Janet S. Minke has joined the company as vice president, underwriting support services. Minke supports Alliant National independent agents by providing training, education, and expertise, and by responding to underwriting questions.

Minke holds a B.A. from the University of North Texas and a Texas Secondary Teaching Certificate. She has taught for years to the Texas Land Title Association and other industry organizations.

"Janet's particular expertise brings a very critical piece to the Alliant National vision," says Phyllis Mulder, Alliant National’s general counsel and senior vice president. "Janet takes rules and forms and translates them into information that is easy to remember and very understandable. She truly has a gift and we are very lucky to have her."

Minke began in the title insurance industry as an escrow assistant at a title agency and swiftly rose to executive vice president, handling business development, human resources, local title underwriting and supervision of claims handling, among other duties. After 24 years, she moved to the underwriter side of the business, and has been responsible for quality assurance, technical training, business solutions, standardizing national forms, implementing an internal title and escrow system, and developing resources and courses for agents.

Her many accolades include: Texas Land Title Association: Title Woman of the Year; Professional Excellence Award - Outstanding Underwriter Support; Peggy Hayes Teaching Excellence Award; President's Award for Outstanding and Exemplary Contribution; and Outstanding Young Title Person Award.

In 2009, she was awarded the designation of Certified Title Insurance Associate by the Texas Land Title Association, currently the highest level of certification offered by the association.

"It is a pleasure and very exciting to be working with Alliant National Title Insurance Company," Minke said. "I feel a particular affinity for the independent agents, who are always eager and on the move to learn more and to sharpen their knowledge base. Coming on with Alliant National is a great fit and I'm thrilled to have this opportunity."
