WFG Names Regional Underwriting Counsel for Central Region

February 11, 2021

WFG National Title Insurance Co. has appointed Neil Narut to the newly created position of vice president and regional underwriting counsel for its central region.

Narut will provide underwriting support to title agents in Illinois and Indiana, which comprise the central region of WFG's Midwest Division. He will partner with Kimberly O’Connor, vice present and central region underwriting counsel for the Great Lakes Division, which encompasses Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

For over two decades, Narut has provided legal counsel on matters of residential and commercial real estate and land title insurance to participating attorneys, their clients, title agents and local and national financial institutions.

“I can’t be more delighted to have Neil as a part our team,” said Jacquie Brink, senior vice president and Great Lakes Division regional manager. “Having spent time in various roles in our industry, including as a title agent, he brings a unique perspective that enhances the client relationship that we feel is the key to this role. His fun and outgoing personality is a great fit, and I foresee that anyone who may not know him will immediately feel comfortable with his underwriting style.”

Narut, who was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1997, most recently served as the senior underwriting counsel for a large title agency in the Chicagoland area. While in private practice, he represented clients in residential and commercial real estate matters, and served as managing attorney of a multi-state default firm, providing counsel in title curative and REO transactions.

In 2013, he left private practice to underwrite for the commercial division of Chicago Title Insurance Co.

“As an attorney in private practice for over 15 years, I always looked to partner with title companies who maintained not only the highest underwriting standards, but also provided the highest levels of service, namely unlimited availability and assistance to help me navigate complex title issues for my clients,” Narut said. “For almost 10 years now, I’ve been driven to provide these same standards and services as a title professional. After getting to know WFG these last few years. I’ve found this is the type of company I would partner with as an attorney and I’m very thrilled to now be a part of their team.”
