Meet Kevin Cameron: Championing ALTA’s Voice in Washington
September 4, 2025
Behind every initiative, meeting and milestone is a group of dedicated professionals. This ALTA Team Spotlight series shines a light on the team members who work alongside you to protect, educate and promote the title industry.
Every day, Kevin Cameron, ALTA’s vice president and head of federal government affairs, walks the halls of Congress with one clear goal: to ensure the voices of title professionals are heard. With his trademark mix of professionalism, warmth and forward-thinking strategy, Kevin has become an indispensable leader for ALTA and a respected advocate for the title industry.
For Kevin, the work is deeply personal.
“Our members are some of the nicest, most passionate people I’ve ever worked with,” he said. “They truly care about protecting homeowners, and their passion makes my job representing the industry in Washington, D.C., so much easier.”
That enthusiasm, combined with his own love of working with policymakers to enact meaningful change, fuels his commitment to finding solutions to some of America’s housing challenges.
Kevin’s career has taken him to the center of policy debates that shape the lives of millions. He doesn’t take for granted the privilege of his role.
“Walking the halls of the Capitol Building every day and getting paid for it—that’s pretty amazing,” he said.
It’s no surprise that his colleagues describe him as both a steady hand and a bright spot in the often high-stakes world of government affairs.
“Kevin is always thinking forward about ways to increase value to the membership in the work he does,” one colleague noted.
Another praised his gift for clarity: “I walk away from every conversation with Kevin knowing and understanding more than before.”
That clarity is paired with a calm, positive demeanor, even in the most hectic times.
“Kevin’s approach is always positive and professional, even when things are challenging,” a teammate shared. “He’s able to inject a lighthearted comment into a conversation and turn frustration into smiles or laughter.”
Others point to his respect for everyone around him, no matter their role, and his ability to build strong bipartisan relationships on Capitol Hill.
Kevin brings a well-rounded perspective to ALTA’s advocacy work, shaped by experience on both the campaign and official sides of Congress as well as in the commercial real estate industry. Having worked closely with senior Members of Congress and real estate executives, he has developed the skills to communicate complex policy priorities in both legislative and business environments. This background, combined with nearly three years at ALTA, makes him a dynamic and innovative advocate for the title industry.
Kevin credits much of his drive and character to his parents. His mother, a lifelong nurse caring for sick children, inspires his compassion and personal values. His father, now on his third career after retiring from two others, is a model of professional resilience and work ethic.
“Together, they inspire me and my brothers to be the best versions of ourselves every day,” Kevin said.
When it comes to professional growth, Kevin believes one of the most underrated skills is learning to embrace constructive criticism.
“It’s not easy or fun, but it’s a critical part of becoming impactful in whatever job you’re doing,” he said.
It’s this openness to growth that has helped him build a reputation as both a leader and a learner.
Outside of work, you’re more likely to find Kevin on a sunny patio with his fiancé, Mike, their French bulldog, Gibson, and a circle of friends. Good food, good drinks and good company, he insists, are the perfect trio. (And yes, there’s probably an iced coffee in his hand—black, no matter the temperature outside. As a true New Englander, hot coffee simply won’t do.)
Kevin’s curiosity extends beyond politics. He recommends the podcast Acquired, which takes deep dives into the growth and business strategies of companies like Amazon, Costco and Hermès.
“It’s a little nerdy,” he admits, “but I love it.”
If he could trade jobs at ALTA for a day? Kevin admits the obvious choice: “If anyone doesn’t say ALTA CEO Chris Morton, they’re lying. Who wouldn’t want to be in charge for a day? But just one day—then I’ll happily go back to chatting with Members of Congress about how important the title industry is.”
Whether he’s representing ALTA on Capitol Hill, brainstorming solutions with members or turning a tough moment into laughter, Kevin has made a lasting mark at ALTA. As one staff member put it: “We’re so lucky to count Kevin among our ALTA colleagues.”
