  The Biden Administration released a plan aimed at lowering housing costs that includes a pilot to waive the requirement for lender’s title insurance on certain refinances.   The proposed rule by U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will require title and settlement companies nationwide to report information about all-cash residential transactions nationwide involving legal entities and trusts.

Homeowner Outreach Program Work Group

The Homeowner Outreach Program Work Group is committed to communicating the benefits of title insurance with homebuyers. The Work Group assists with development of simple, clear communication for homebuyers, real estate agents and lenders about title insurance and settlement services. The Work Group is also charged with promoting innovative consumer education, marketing and communication opportunities for ALTA members.
