Legal & Regulatory Clerk

ALTA, founded in 1907, is the national trade association and voice of the abstract and title insurance industry. ALTA members search, review, and insure land titles to protect home buyers and mortgage lenders who invest in real estate.

The selected applicant will work alongside ALTA’s Education & Research Manager to assist the Education Department with the Title Insurance Regulatory Surveys and the ALTA Policy Forms Collection. The Legal & Regulatory Clerk will: maintain a list of state contacts, identify which states are ready for updates and forwards surveys to them, update the TIRS summary chart

Preferred Qualifications:  Applicants must be highly organized, enjoy interacting with people and working as part of a team. Study concentrations in public policy, communications, business, law, or government are helpful though not required. The successful candidate will be creative, entrepreneurial and self-directed with strong writing and communications skills. Previous intern experience in business, legislative affairs, political action committees, and the Hill are a plus.

Hours: 20-29 hours per week

Wage/Salary: $18/hour
