ALTA/ACSM Standards
As a benefit to the public, the survey profession, title insurers, and abstracters, The American Congress on Surveying and Mapping and the National Society of Professional Surveyors, Inc., have worked with ALTA to create general standards for surveys. Also developed were Accuracy Standards to address issues such as Positional Uncertainty and Minimum Angle, Distance and Closure Requirements for the ALTA-ACSM Land Title Surveys.
