Over 70 ALTA volunteers got down and dirty (a few additionally covered with tar) and participated in the ALTA Habitat for Humanity Home Build during two days at the ALTA Annual Convention. Participants left the site tired and with a few sore muscles, but with a great feeling of pride and accomplishment as well.
We were fortunate to have Colin Powell visit the site on Saturday, October 13 with a group of ALTA members. There they were able to meet with the families and surprise a group of youth involved in a volunteer day with an opportunity to hear from Colin Powell.
The work on the house will continue over the next several months. Most work is done by volunteers and the family, so it is projected that it will be completed by spring of 2008. It is not too late to get involved in this worthwhile cause. ALTA is accepting contributions through the end of 2007. If you would like to contribute please click on one of the options below. We will keep you updated on the progress of the house and continue to update our list of contributors.
Whether or not you plan to attend the Annual Convention, you can help! ALTA has created opportunities for corporate, individual, and state land title association volunteers. Use the links below for more information . . .
