Title Insurance Regulatory Survey Downloads

Do you need to know details on state laws relating to the licensing and operating requirements of title insurers, title agents, abstracters, and escrow and closing agents? The Title Insurance Regulatory Survey is the most comprehensive collection of regulatory information and practices of the title industry available.

The survey can be purchased by volume, containing the regulatory details on one of six regions of the country, or as a complete set featuring all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Newly available for purchase is The Title Insurance Regulatory Survey Summary Chart for all 51 jurisdictions.

These are just a few things that are detailed for each state:

  • Monoline Statutes
  • Annual Reports and Audit Requirements for Title Insurers
  • Rate Regulation
  • Title Agent Licensing and Testing
  • Capital and Surplus Requirements for Title Agents
  • Title Plant Requirements
  • Special Requirements and Exemptions for Attorneys
  • Unauthorized Practice of Law Issues
  • Bonding and Insurance Requirements for Escrow and Closing Personnel
  • Who Can Close/Who Actually Does Close
  • Controlled Business Issues

Developed by industry regulatory counsel, each state survey has been reviewed by in-state editors to ensure that the surveys reflect the proper legal and operational environment in all jurisdictions.
