Data Trace Adds Title Plants in Eight Counties

May 5, 2011

Data Trace Information Services, a provider of data services to the settlement services industry, announced the addition of eight new counties to its collection of title plant databases.

The additional counties include Sandoval, N.M.; Santa Fe, N.M.; Putnam, N.Y.; Warren, Iowa; Cass, Ind.; Morgan, Mo.; Somervell, Texas and Hood, Texas.

Data Trace, through its geographically indexed title plants, enables settlement services companies to streamline the search of property and title-related information. The new title plants, which consist of comprehensive databases of property information within a specified county, have the same datasets and searching capabilities as Data Trace’s 240 existing title plants.

Unlike title plants that are indexed only by owners’ names, Data Trace’s geographically indexed title plants post transactional data to a specific piece of land, which eliminates time-consuming searching of common names in densely populated counties. Data Trace’s title plants may be searched with multiple property parameters including legal descriptions, subdivision names and assessor parcel numbers, which allows for faster research and identification of relevant transactions associated with the property.

In addition to receiving valuable data associated with the chain of title on a property, users may request supporting document images directly from the Data Trace online platform through which property data is delivered.

“The addition of these counties is a demonstration of Data Trace’s commitment to continued expansion over the next several years,” stated Robert Karraa, president of Data Trace. “We plan to significantly increase our geographic coverage, further positioning Data Trace as the leader in title plant technology.”
