ALTA Upgrades to Database Software and Expected Website Downtime

As part of ALTA’s continued efforts to better meet member and customer needs, we are upgrading our association management database software and will install it soon. Because this affects you, we want to give you a heads up on what to expect and when to expect it during this process.

First and foremost, security about your information is very important to us. During the upgrade and corresponding downtime, please be assured that your current and historical data will be secure. Your time is also important to us. We have worked to eliminate as many inconveniences as possible, but the actual “flipping of the switch” will involve downtime on the ALTA website that may affect you. In addition to downtime, if you have made modifications to your login information, you will need to make these modifications again.

Important date: Friday, April 8 – No Online Purchases or Meeting Registrations until April 19

In order to finish all financial processing in our current system before the data conversion process, the ALTA Store on the ALTA website will become inaccessible at the close of business on April 8. We have timed this closing to coincide with the cutoff for Business Strategies early-bird registration . You will still be able to log in and access the wealth of news and information on the ALTA website, but you will not be able to register for any meetings or make any purchases from the ALTA Store.

Important date: Friday, April 15 – ALTA Website Down until April 18th & Logins Reset

ALTA staff and our software vendor will be working behind the scenes to convert all of our data and put the pieces of the new software in place to prepare for April 15. Beginning at the close of business on April 15 the ALTA website will not be accessible. When the ALTA website comes back on line, you will need to use your factory preset login (your permanent ALTA ID) and password (first 3 letters of your last name plus your permanent ALTA ID).

Important date: Monday, April 18 or Tuesday, April 19 – ALTA Website Back Up

As soon as we are certain that the conversion process was successful, we will send you an e-mail to let you know that all systems are go. We’ll also remind you of your login and password so that you can immediately log in.
