Alanna.ai Retains SOC 2, Type II Certification

February 28, 2024

Alanna.ai, the creator of a conversational AI-powered virtual assistant for title agents, has been designated with the American Institute of Public Accountants’ Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type II certification.

The audit and certification were performed by a licensed CPA firm A-LIGN, a cybersecurity compliance solutions provider serving over 4,000 businesses globally.

The SOC 2, Type II certification is considered the elite standard for data security and financial controls in the mortgage and real estate industry. Established by The American Institute of Public Accountants, it is a widely accepted auditing measurement indicating robust controls in the protection of confidential data and financial information from known and emerging threats. These controls pertain to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.  To achieve the designation, alanna.ai underwent an extensive audit after which an independent accounting and auditing firm reported its processes, procedures and controls meet the standard.

Alanna provides a conversational AI technology that can engage in conversations with clients via SMS text or web chat in 54 different languages. The technology, which functions as a virtual employee for title agents, can also be used for functions requiring data extraction and processing as well as interactive marketing and customer service functions. Alanna recently facilitated its 10 millionth title agency to customer message.

“As we’ve seen recently, the cyberthreat to the title industry is substantial and only mounting,” said Hoyt Mann, co-founder and president of alanna.ai. “Alanna is an important part of a number of title agents’ operations, which means we need to be at the top of our cybersecurity awareness as well. The SOC 2 certification is the gold standard for cybersecurity. While there is no complete defense against every sophisticated cyberattack, this certification also indicates that we have continued to exercise vigilance and a continuous improvement process to evolve as best we can to meet those cyberthreats.”
