ALTA Congratulates Election Winners, Looks Ahead to Housing Affordability and Consumer Protection Priorities

Washington, D.C., Nov. 4, 2026 — The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, issued the following statement following the Nov. 3 elections.

“ALTA congratulates election winners from both parties across the country and looks forward to working with leaders at the federal and state levels to advance policies that make housing more affordable, sustainable and secure,” said ALTA CEO Chris Morton.

“As policymakers continue addressing the nation's housing affordability challenges, consumer protection must remain part of the conversation. Fraud is unaffordable, and increasingly sophisticated schemes are putting American homeowners and their property rights at risk. Affordability and consumer protection should go hand in hand, and the title industry looks forward to working with elected officials across the country to advance commonsense solutions that lower costs while preserving the safeguards that protect American families and the integrity of our housing market.”
