ALTA Commends Senate for Advancing the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act

Washington, D.C., March 12, 2026 — The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate advanced the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.

ALTA appreciates the Senate’s efforts in advancing this bipartisan bill and urges policymakers to work collaboratively to enact legislation that addresses the nation’s housing affordability challenges and expands access to sustainable homeownership.

“ALTA commends the Senate and congressional leaders for advancing bipartisan solutions that help expand housing opportunities for American families,” said ALTA CEO Chris Morton. “The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act represents an important step in the effort to strengthen housing supply and modernize federal housing policy while ensuring the real estate system remains reliable and secure for homebuyers and lenders.”

Title professionals play a critical role in protecting property rights and ensuring the integrity of real estate transactions, particularly against the growing threat of fraud. “The title insurance industry looks forward to continuing to work with policymakers in both chambers to advance housing solutions while preserving the safeguards that protect American homeowners,” Morton said.

ALTA appreciates the efforts of Congress and the Trump administration to improve housing affordability while maintaining critical protections for consumers and property rights.
