May 28, 2026

Learn What’s Changed in ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey Standards

When something goes wrong, land surveys can quickly become the main character of your real estate transaction.

ALTA’s Understanding ALTA/NSPS Land Surveys online course, available through the ALTA Learning Center, brought to you by ICE Mortgage Technology, helps title professionals better understand the survey issues that can affect a transaction, from boundary lines and easements to encroachments, access and legal descriptions. In other words: the details that are easy to overlook until they are very much not easy to overlook.

Updated for 2026, this four-part course now includes a new module covering changes to the 2026 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, effective Feb. 23, 2026.

Learners will walk through the fundamentals of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, including the 2021 standards, Table A optional survey responsibilities and specifications and more advanced survey matters that can impact title. The course is designed to help professionals work more efficiently, reduce errors and better recognize potential red flags before they become bigger problems.

Whether you are onboarding new employees, brushing up on survey basics or trying to make legal descriptions feel slightly less mysterious, this self-paced course delivers practical training you can use right away.

Upon successful completion, CE credit is available in approved states and learners can download a certificate of course completion.
