New Certificate Rules Mean More Frequent Renewals for Title Companies

Title and settlement professionals should prepare for a significant shift in how public SSL/TLS certificate renewals are managed, as industry standards move toward dramatically shorter lifespans over the next several years. As of March 15, 2026, organizations—including title insurance and settlement services companies—are now required to renew these certificates far more frequently. Read on to learn when shorter validity periods will go into effect.
