FinCEN Pauses Reporting Following Federal Court Decision

March 24, 2026

Following a federal court ruling in Texas vacating the FinCEN’s Residential Real Estate Rule, FinCEN posted an alert on its website that said “reporting persons are not currently required to file real estate reports with FinCEN and are not subject to liability if they fail to do so while the order remains in force.”
