Closinglock Unveils Two-way Texting for Title Companies

August 12, 2025

Closinglock has developed a Short Message Service (SMS) tool that allows title and closing professionals to exchange real-time text messages with clients and partners within its platform.

“Texting is how today’s consumers prefer to communicate,” said Sushma Zoellner, chief product officer at Closinglock. “With two-way text, we’re delivering something the title industry has never had before — a fast, secure, and easy way to have conversations with clients and partners from within their existing closing platform.”

A customer survey conducted by Closinglock indicated that the ability to send and receive texts was one of the most sought-after features, with 75% of surveyed customers describing it as a “game-changer” for their workflows and customer experiences.

Closinglock reported its texting solution empowers title teams to engage with clients and partners in their preferred communication method, driving task completion, greater transparency and reducing costly delays. Closinglock said its secure portal uses two-factor authentication to block unauthorized access and reduce the risk of text message scams.

“Today’s announcement is more than just a new feature release, it marks a fundamental shift in how Closinglock empowers title and settlement companies,” Zoellner said. “Our expanded suite of intelligent communication and workflow tools bridge fragmented systems, reduce manual work, and keep all parties aligned. By combining automation, transparency, and built-in security, we help title professionals and their clients move through the closing process with confidence and without delays.”

Closinglock said it has already added automated email and text reminders, reducing the need for title teams to follow up with clients manually. Closinglock’s forthcoming closing progress tracker will keep every party aligned on the status of the transaction by showing what’s been completed, what’s next, and who’s responsible. To further streamline communication, Closinglock reported it will introduce customizable, automated notifications triggered by activity in the title production software. TPS-triggered notifications within Resware and Settlor are expected later this year, with SoftPro following shortly after. Additionally, title companies will soon be able to send notifications from their own branded email domains.
