Increased Client Demand for Compliance Help Drives Equity National Title to Grow Team

March 24, 2015

Equity National Title has added Travis Cline and Jonathan Hill, both in the role of vice president, national sales executive.

In their new roles, Cline and Hill will focus on further growing Equity’s market share and geographic footprint.  They will also serve as resources to existing clients. According to James K. O’Donnell, president of Equity, the company’s recent rollout of several new services has resulted in a significant increase in new business and new business inquiries, necessitating the additions.

“We’ve introduced a few new services designed to aid lenders with certain compliance issues and to help them close more loans in the past two years, which has brought about a surge in market interest,” he said. “Travis and Jon understand what lenders are facing in balancing increased risks with a need to close more loans. We’re confident they will quickly become trusted resources for our existing clients as well as for new customers.”

In response to gaps it discovered in traditional insurance coverage provided by title agents, Equity created Comprehensive Settlement Protection (CSP) to provide a supplemental insurance policy for insured lenders against closing fraud, defalcation and closing instruction violations lasting three years from the date of the closing. Additionally, Equity launched a service aimed at helping lenders improve their application pull-through rates.

Cline previously was president of Apex Mortgage in 2003. He also served with national mortgage insurance provider MGIC before becoming vice president of national sales for Vantage Point Title.

Hill previously worked with Title One, a Michigan based settlement services firm.
