Florida Land Title Association Adopts Principles of Fair Conduct

July 8, 2008

Florida Land Title Association has adopted the Principles of Fair Conduct. Florida joins thirty-four other states, totaling over half of the land in the continental United States, who approved the principles including: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington State.

The Principles of Fair Conduct are a part of ALTA's Title Industry Consumer Initiative - a multi-faceted strategy for improving oversight of the industry and educating and protecting consumers. These state affiliates will inform their members through newsletters and meetings to help spread the word about the Initiative and Principles of Fair Conduct and encourage members to adopt them in their own title companies.
