LandAmerica Executives File Sworn Statements With SEC

RICHMOND, Va., /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG - News) announced today that Charles H. Foster, Jr., chief executive officer, and G. William Evans, chief financial officer, submitted sworn statements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) which state that the company's 2002 SEC reports contain no material misstatements or omissions.

On June 27, 2002, the SEC issued an order requiring the chief executive officer and the chief financial officer of large publicly traded companies to submit sworn statements, setting a deadline of August 14, 2002. These sworn statements affirm the accuracy of the company's Form 10-K report for 2001; Form 10-Q reports for the first and second quarters of 2002; the company's 2002 proxy statement to shareholders and other recent filings.
