Seller Impersonation Fraud Study

ALTA conducts research to better understand and combat seller impersonation fraud. As part of this effort, ALTA conducted an industry survey in spring 2026. It received 245 responses covering 40 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This report summarizes the results of the 2026 survey and compares the findings with ALTA’s 2024 seller impersonation fraud study.
