Data Trace Announces Further Expansion In Southwest

November 4, 2005

ANAHEIM, Calif.– Data Trace LLC, a national provider of title plant services, announced its acquisition of the information businesses of Courthouse Data, an Arkansas-based provider of title plant services and online property information.

The acquisition strengthens Data Trace’s presence in the Southwest by adding tax, title and document image retrieval services in Arkansas. Data Trace’s services now span 26 states and includes many of the nation’s most active real estate markets. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“With the acquisition of this business, we take another important step in our quest to deliver a national title and tax information network,” said Michael T. Henney, Data Trace president. “Courthouse Data’s products and services complement our business while providing coverage in markets that are important to our customers.”

Included in the acquisition is Courthouse Data’s online title database covering 14 Arkansas counties, its data collection operation and its title abstracting service, which provides customized title, tax and document retrieval services throughout the state.

Title abstracting services, which include research into property title and tax payment status, UCC filings, court records and map images, will continue to be marketed through Courthouse Data’s order placement system, which is located at www.courthousedata.com.

With coverage in 26 states and a title plant and tax database that includes 650 million records and access to The First American Corporation’s archive of more than 2 billion imaged documents, Data Trace maintains the broadest and most comprehensive title information system available. Data Trace, a joint venture company owned by The First American Corporation and LandAmerica Financial Group, provides technology that enables title insurance companies to connect regional title databases and access them using a standard software interface.
