LandAmerica's Inspectech Subsidiary Completes North Carolina Acquisition

February 23, 2005

Richmond, Virginia – LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG), a provider of real estate transaction services, through its subsidiary Inspectech, Inc., announces the purchase of Carolina Home Check, Inc. of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Carolina Home Check provides home inspections in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. John Palczuk and Steve Smallman, principals of Carolina Home Check, will come on board with Inspectech as an East Coast area executive and as Carolina State Manager of Inspectech’s Carolina operations, respectively.

“As a company that prides itself on exceptional service, we’re very excited to be working with LandAmerica. Like Carolina Home Check, LandAmerica believes in going the extra mile for customers,” says John Palczuk of Carolina Home Check.

Revell Fraser, President of Inspectech agrees. “After a seamless transition, customers of both LandAmerica and Carolina Home Check can expect to benefit greatly from this new arrangement.”

All inspectors of Carolina Home Check have joined Inspectech, with backroom operations consolidated into Inspectech’s National Support Center located in Alpharetta, Georgia.
