Bill Rancic to Share Message about Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Dedication

With title professionals facing new demands from lenders and an uncertain role in the closing process as we await the CFPB’s final rule on new mortgage disclosures, Bill Rancic will provide some timely advice on using challenging times to your advantage during the opening general session on Oct. 10 at ALTA’s 2013 Annual Convention.

An entrepreneur, author, TV personality and restaurateur, Rancic will share his entrepreneurial experiences ranging from childhood business ideas to his cigar-of-the-month club and being named the first-ever winner of the NBC hit show "The Apprentice" with Donald Trump.

In addition to Rancic, here’s a look at other general session speakers and topics:

  • The Human Calculator Crunches the Housing Numbers: Dr. Stan Humphries knows all about numbers. He helped create Zillow’s Zestimate and its algorithm and is also in charge of calculating all statistics on the housing market for the company. Zillow’s chief economist will share his expertise on home values and offer his insight into what level of appreciation we can expect over the next few years.
  • A New Era for Closings: For more than 30 years, federal law generally required consumers receive the HUD-1 and Truth-In-Lending disclosures when closing a mortgage. The closing process will dramatically change after the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) releases its final rules for new mortgage disclosures in the next couple of months. Our invited speakers will analyze the proposal—or final rule if it’s released—and explain how it will impact your operation, relationship with lender clients and consumers.
  • Dream Bigger—Communicating to Inform and Inspire: The heart of ALTA’s Best Practices is about providing the highest quality service to customers. But how do you get your employees to follow the implemented policies and procedures? A speaker from the Disney Institute will share how you can craft your message so employees not only listen but hear what you are saying. You’ll learn how Disney’s comprehensive training process keeps it positioned to maintain a competitive edge in the future and how effective organizational communication reinforces the company’s culture.

A schedule with all the other sessions can be viewed here. As always, CE/CLE credits will be available in many states.

Please note that ALTA’s room block at the Breakers is sold out. ALTA is working with the hotel to see if there are any more rooms available to add to the block. Please call the Breakers reservations department at 888-727-1649 and ask to get on the waiting list. ALTA also is looking into adding an overflow room block at another hotel.
