SANTA ANA, Calif., -- First American Title Insurance Company announced that Richard A. Kersenbrock has been named vice president and manager for Los Angeles County.

In his new position, Kersenbrock will be responsible for overseeing all First American title and escrow operations in Los Angeles County. A First American employee since 1998, Kersenbrock most recently held the position of Southern California regional director for First American Title's National Homebuilder Services division. "Los Angeles County is one the nation's premier real estate markets, in terms of both values and volume, and First American has a long history of service, innovation and leadership there," said Mark Sachau, California and Hawaii division president for First American Title. "Rick's vast experiences in our legal, operations and Homebuilder Services units make him uniquely qualified to manage the challenges and business opportunities Los Angeles County presents."

Kersenbrock joined Hawaii-based First American Long & Melone Title Company as vice president and general counsel in 1998, and later went on to hold a number of positions in California. In 2000, he was named vice president and regional counsel for First American Title Company of Los Angeles, and then transferred to the company's operations in Ventura County, Calif., where he served as vice president, regional counsel and chief operating officer for a year before being promoted to Ventura County manager. He returned to Hawaii in 2002 when he was promoted to state manager and president of the company's majority-owned Hawaiian subsidiary, First American Title Company, Inc.

A native of Hawaii, Kersenbrock holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a juris doctor from the university's William S. Richardson School of Law.
