Arkansas Land Title Association and New Jersey Land Title Association Adopt Principles of Fair Conduct
January 17, 2008
With the encouragement and support of ALTA President-Elect Mike Pryor, the Arkansas Land Title Association adopted the Principles of Fair Conduct at its board meeting yesterday. The New Jersey Land Title Association previously adopted the principles during its November meeting. Arkansas and New Jersey join 16 other land title associations: Colorado, Dixie Land, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The Principles of Fair Conduct are a part of ALTA's Title Industry Consumer Initiative - a multi-faceted strategy for improving oversight of the industry and educating and protecting consumers. These state affiliates will inform their members through newsletters and meetings to help spread the word about the Initiative and Principles of Fair Conduct and encourage members to adopt them in their own title companies.
Has your company or state land title association adopted the Principles yet? To learn more about the Title Industry Consumer Initiative and how you can get involved, please contact Ed Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
