COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Digital Map Products (DMP) has teamed with United Title Co. to develop and deliver an extension to United's ClosingPoint(TM) Web-based transaction management platform. The new component, named Interactive Aerial Maps, provides powerful tools and aerial imagery to residential real estate sales and mortgage professionals. Interactive Aerial Maps cost-effectively addresses the critical demands of real estate buyers and sellers to quickly access unique and accurate information about properties of interest.
Interactive Aerial Maps was developed using the core technology of DMP's CityGIS5 software application. CityGIS5 provides an easy-to-use application that merges multiple layers of data including aerial imagery, maps, parcel boundaries, and property record data. Customized for United Title Co., DMP's CityGIS5 was branded as Interactive Aerial Maps. United Title has incorporated Interactive Aerial Maps as a component of ClosingPoint, a robust online transaction management application for title insurance and escrow developed for exclusive use by its customers.
"DMP provided us with a powerful and extensible foundation to build the Interactive Aerial Maps application," said Peter Bowman, chief information officer of Nations Holding Group, parent company to United Title Co. "In addition to a state-of-the-art technology platform, CityGIS5 offered added benefits such as fast time to market, a stable and proven product base, and the ability to add our brand. Interactive Aerial Maps has become an integral part of ClosingPoint for Southern California, and United Title looks forward to working with DMP to extend the service to new geographies."
Interactive Aerial Maps benefits real estate professionals by providing high-resolution, visual content married with detailed property research. With just a click of the mouse, the robust offering enables users to analyze and showcase properties for clients via the Internet, eliminating time-consuming tours of surrounding areas and interactively delivering detailed, visual access to out-of-town clients.
Using Interactive Aerial Maps, mortgage professionals can easily determine property value and parcel shape data, visually assessing if a property is along a golf course, next to open space or boasting a spectacular view making a more favorable financial appraisal realistic. Map navigation allows users to take advantage of dynamic zooming (zoom in, zoom out, zoom to area) and map panning functionalities to ensure a thorough view of the queried properties and areas.
