First Advantage Corporation Acquires Background Information Systems, Inc.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- First Advantage Corporation (Nasdaq: FADV), a majority owned subsidiary of The First American Corporation and global risk management solutions provider, today announced the acquisition of Dallas-based Background Information Systems, Inc. (BIS), a regional provider of employment background screening services. The acquisition, in combination with the recent acquisition of MVRS, Inc. and MedTech Diagnostics, Inc., provides First Advantage with significant presence to support clients in the South Central region of the United States.
BIS successfully carved a niche in the Texas pre-employment screening marketplace since its formation in 2001. The company offers an array of screening reports to assist employers in evaluating employment candidates and specializes in criminal record reports. To further this specialty, the company developed an in-house database of 30 million criminal records -- derived from sources across the nation -- that supplements clients' targeted criminal record searches.
