Westcor Promotes Western States Area Manager

June 25, 2020

Westcor Land Title Insurance Company promoted Steve Black to senior vice president and area manager of its western states as the company looks to continue expanding in that region.

In this role, Black will provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day business operations in the 17 states that make up Westcor’s western area. He will be responsible for increasing Westcor’s presence in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Utah and Alaska (when licensed), in addition to the states he already oversees.

Black joined Westcor in 2015 as the Texas regional manager. Since then, he has produced increased revenue each year. Black was hired to increase Westcor’s brand in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico.

Black has more than 30 years of industry experience in various ownership and leadership roles. The first half of his career was with a national underwriter where he helped establish agent relationships and developed a centralized title production platform for lending institutions. He then spent the next 15 years setting up and operating three separate successful Texas title agencies.

Mike Koloski, vice president and western area manager, will continue to work closely with Black as he hands off the day to day management of the western states. Koloski will continue to play a role in providing support to Westcor agents.

“Steve’s industry expertise and dedication to customer success and his ability to build strong teams makes him a perfect fit for Westcor’s long-term strategic goals,” said Scott Chandler, Westcor’s chief operating officer. “Mike and Steve have been working very closely to set the stage for a smooth executive succession in the year ahead. They continue to amaze me with their ability to understand what our agents want and need in their market and what to deliver.”
